All-on-4 Dental Implants in Turkey

Four titanium implants go into the jaw - two straight at the front, two angled further back. On the same day or within a few days a temporary fixed bridge is screwed onto them, so you can smile and eat soft food while the bone heals around the implants.

After 3–6 months, once the implants are stable, the dentist takes new scans and makes your final bridge. This is the one you keep. It is screwed in, so only the dentist can take it off for cleaning or repairs.

• Most or all teeth missing, loose or failing in one jaw

Smoking and poorly controlled diabetes raise the risk of implants failing - your dentist will ask about both. If you have very little bone left, you may need a bone graft or a different technique (such as zygomatic implants), which changes the plan and the price.

All-on-4 uses the fewest implants and often avoids grafting. All-on-6 spreads the bite over six implants, which some dentists prefer for the upper jaw or for heavy biters - it needs more bone and costs more. A removable denture is the cheapest option but can move and covers the palate. Implant-retained overdentures sit in between: they clip onto 2–4 implants but still come out. Ask your dentist which one fits your bone, bite and budget.

Most full-arch bridges have a rigid titanium bar inside. On top sits either acrylic teeth (lightest and cheapest, but they wear faster), porcelain-fused teeth (a hybrid - the option in our listed price), or monolithic zirconia (the strongest and most natural-looking, and the most expensive). Your written plan should name both the implant system and the bridge material.

Long-term studies report that most full-arch implants and bridges are still working after ten years. The implants themselves can last decades with good care. The bridge takes the wear: acrylic teeth may need replacing after 5–10 years, porcelain or zirconia usually lasts longer. Regular hygienist visits and wearing a night guard if you grind your teeth make the biggest difference.

• Swelling, bruising and some discomfort for the first days - normal
• Infection around an implant, or an implant that does not fuse with the bone
• Temporary or, rarely, lasting numbness of the lip or chin (lower jaw)
• Sinus problems after upper-jaw implants
• Chipped teeth or a loose screw on the bridge
• Gum inflammation around implants years later (peri-implantitis) if cleaning is poor

If one implant fails, the bridge usually has to come off while it is replaced. Ask what your clinic does - and who pays - if that happens.

Expect swelling for 3–5 days; most people are back at a desk job within a week. You eat soft food on the temporary bridge for the first weeks, then build up slowly. Avoid smoking and alcohol while the implants heal, and keep the check-ups your clinic gives you.

Brush twice a day, and clean under the bridge with a water flosser or interdental brushes - food collects there. Plan a hygienist visit every 6–12 months (your dentist at home can do this) and a check at your clinic when you are back in Istanbul.
