What is a breast lift?
A breast lift (mastopexy) removes loose skin and moves the nipple higher to give a firmer, lifted shape - after pregnancy, weight loss or with age. It does not add volume. Results vary, and your surgeon will tell you what is realistic for you.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a breast lift cost in Turkey?
Listed breast lift packages on &NewMe currently range from €2,650 to €8,130. You get a written quote within 24 hours, before you book. Breast lift cost guide
Will a breast lift make my breasts bigger?
No - it lifts and reshapes. For more volume, a lift can be combined with implants or, with some surgeons, fat transfer.
Breast lift or breast reduction?
If your breasts are heavy and you would like them smaller, a reduction lifts and reduces at once. If you are happy with your size, a lift is enough.
Should I wait until after pregnancy?
Pregnancy and breastfeeding can stretch the breast again, so many surgeons suggest waiting until you have finished having children.
Breast lift: what to expect
Short answers to the questions we hear most. Your surgeon will advise on your own case.
What is a breast lift?
A breast lift (mastopexy) raises and reshapes breasts that have dropped - after pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight loss or with age. The surgeon removes loose skin, reshapes the breast tissue into a firmer shape and moves the nipple higher. A lift does not make the breasts noticeably bigger or fuller at the top: for that it can be combined with implants (breast lift with implants). If your breasts are also heavy, a breast reduction lifts and reduces in one operation.

Who is a good candidate?
People at a stable weight who have finished, or are not planning, pregnancies usually keep their result best - pregnancy and weight changes can stretch the breast again, and surgeons may suggest waiting. Results tend to last longer in smaller breasts than in heavy ones.

What scars will I have?
- Around the areola only - for a small lift.
- Around the areola + vertical ("lollipop") - the most common pattern.
- Anchor (inverted-T) - adds a scar in the crease under the breast, for more loose skin.
The scars are usually hidden by a bra or bikini top. They fade over many months but do not disappear.

What does recovery look like?
- Operation: usually 2 to 3 hours under general anaesthesia; usually 1 night in hospital.
- Work: many people go back to desk work after about 2 weeks.
- Exercise and lifting: usually not for about 6 weeks.
- Support bra: day and night for several weeks, as your surgeon advises.
- Final shape: settles over several months.
Your surgeon will give you their own timings.
When can I fly home?
Most surgeons want to see you for a check before you fly home - ask how many days they want you in Istanbul (often around a week) before you book flights. Long flights soon after surgery raise the risk of blood clots: walk regularly, drink water, and ask your surgeon about compression stockings and whether you need anything else for the journey. Plan who can help you lift luggage.
Breastfeeding, sensation and how long it lasts
In most lifts the nipple stays attached to the tissue underneath, so many people can still breastfeed, but this cannot be guaranteed. Nipple sensation can change, usually temporarily. The breast keeps ageing after a lift and gravity, pregnancy and weight changes affect the result over the years.

What are the risks?
Bleeding, infection, reactions to the anaesthetic, blood clots, wound-healing problems, thick or wide scars, uneven breasts or nipples, changes in sensation and, rarely, loss of blood supply to the nipple. Smoking increases the risk of healing problems.

If something isn't right after you're home
- Your coordinator stays with you through recovery - message them first with photos if something worries you.
- Remote follow-up with your surgeon is part of the process after you return home.
- Complication insurance is included by most providers - check your quote for what it covers.
For a fever, a hot, red or rapidly swelling breast, heavy bleeding, chest pain or breathlessness, get medical help at home straight away, then tell your coordinator.
How do I choose a breast lift surgeon?
- A specialist in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, registered on HealthTürkiye (the Ministry of Health portal) and operating in a hospital authorised for international patients.
- Before-and-after photos of patients with a similar starting point.
- A written quote naming the surgeon, hospital, nights, what is included and the revision policy.
