The 4 photos a surgeon needs

Four photos are enough for a first opinion. Take them with your phone, one after the other, with the same light.

  1. Front. Look straight ahead, mouth relaxed, face level.
  2. Left side. Turn your head so your whole profile is visible. Look at the wall in front of you.
  3. Right side. The same, the other way.
  4. From below. Chin up a little, so both nostrils and the base of the nose are visible.

Optional: a three-quarter view on each side. It helps with the tip and the bridge, but you can skip it.

Light and distance

  • Daylight. Stand facing a window. Do not use the flash.
  • A plain wall behind you, and no strong shadows on your face.
  • An arm's length or a little more. A selfie held very close makes the nose look bigger and distorts it.
  • Phone at nose height, held straight, in portrait mode.
  • Ask someone to take them if you can. It is easier to keep the same angle.

Before you take them

  • No make-up on the nose and no filters or beauty mode.
  • Hair tied back off your face, glasses off.
  • A relaxed face: no smile, no raised eyebrows.
  • Send the original photos, not screenshots or cropped images.

If you have had nose surgery before

Add photos from before your first operation, if you have them, and your operation report or at least the date, the surgeon and what was done. See the revision rhinoplasty guide.

How to send them

  • With a free quote. The form has a photo step. You can continue without photos and add them later.
  • On WhatsApp. Send them to your coordinator in the same chat.

Your coordinator passes them to the surgeons you chose and you get a written quote, usually within 24 hours. You pay nothing until you accept it. Get a free quote. For prices, see the rhinoplasty cost guide.

Common photo mistakes

Any of these makes it harder for a surgeon to give you a firm quote.

Too close
A close-up selfie changes the shape of the nose.
Filters or editing
They smooth the skin and change the lines of the nose.
Chin too high or too low
It changes the angle of the tip and the bridge. Keep your face level, except in the photo from below.
Flash or shadows
They hide the shape of the bridge and the tip.
Only one photo
One angle cannot show the whole nose. Send all four.

How many photos do I need for a rhinoplasty quote?

Four: front, left side, right side and from below. A three-quarter view on each side is optional.

Can I send selfies?
